Two held with tiger skin in Kailali

Two people have been arrested in possession of the Royal Bengal Tiger skin from Singhasan community forest area at Matkauna of Gauriganga Municipality-7 in Kailali district.

Those arrested in this connection have been identified as Purna Bahadur Budhamagar (55) of Salgari, Mohanyal Rural Municipality-5, and Lokesh Sijapati of Lamkichuha Municipality-1 in the district, informed District Police Office, Kailali. 

A team of the Sudurpaschim Province Investigation Team arrested them on Tuesday. Police confiscated 10-feet long and 6 feet 7 inches wide tiger skin from them. The skin was found hidden inside a white plastic sack one of the two men was carrying.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said Pratik Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police. They will be tried under the National Park and Wildlife Act (1973).
