As per this decision, the government had submitted a recommendation to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari seeking dissolution of the HoR and the announcement of dates for mid-term elections.
Within a couple of hours of receiving the recommendation, the president had issued a statement announcing the dissolution of the HoR and the dates for the mid-term elections.
Former speakers Daman Nath Dhungana, Ram Chandra Poudel, Taranath Ranabhat, Subas Nembang, Onsari Gharti Magar, and Krishna Bahadur Mahara will be participating in the meeting. Speaker Sapkota has called this meeting because political parties have also been urging him to call for a session in the Parliament.
