Youth held with pharmaceutical drugs in Nawalparasi

Police arrested a youth with pharmaceutical drugs from Sarawal Rural Municipality-3 in Nawalparasi district on Friday afternoon.

The arrested has been identified as Shiva Chandra Koiri (22) of Badsare in the same municipality. He had 320 ampules of norfin, phenergan, and diazepam in his possession.

Koiri was riding a motorcycle with an 'On Test' registration number. Joint security personnel deployed from the Gobarhiya-based Area Police and Bardaghat-based Area Police Office nabbed Koiri with the pharmaceutical drugs during a routine vehicle check.

Similarly, two men were arrested in possession of 6.40 grams of heroin from Kamalamai Municipality-9 in Sindhuli district on Friday evening.

The arrested have been identified as Bimal Chauhan (31) of Bhiman in the same municipality and Baliram Singh Thakuri of Jayprithvi Municipality in Bajhang district.

They were riding on a motorcycle with registration number PRA 2-02-002 PA 6781. Sindhuli-based District Police Office (DPO) personnel nabbed them with the heroin during a routine vehicle check.

Meanwhile, police arrested a man with 1.69 grams of hashish from Bheemdutt Municipality-10 in Kanchanpur district on Friday night.

The arrested has been identified as Sunil Sunar (30) of Sukasal in the same municipality.

He was riding a scooter with registration number SU-PA-PRA 02-003 PA 7193. Security personnel deployed from Kanchanpur-based District Police Office nabbed Sunar with the hashish during a routine vehicle check.

Likewise, police in Dang district arrested two persons in possession of 2.17 grams of brown sugar from Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-15 on Friday night.

The arrested have been identified as Rakesh Basnet (29) and Ankit Rawat (27), both residents of the same municipality in Himal Tole.

Basnet was allegedly peddling the brown sugar from his house. Acting on a tip-off, the Dang-based District Police Office nabbed Rakesh with the substance while searching his house. The police also seized Rs 9,800 from him.

Meanwhile, police arrested two men with one kg of opium from Rajdevi Municipality-32 in Rautahat district on Saturday morning.

The arrested have been identified as Anil Lama (32) of Makawanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-2 and Suklal Waiba (35) of Bakaiya Rural Municipality-6 in Makawanpur district.

They were riding on a motorcycle with registration number BA 60 PA 535. Joint security personnel deployed from the Rautahat-based District Police Office and Basatpur-based Area Police Office nabbed them with opium during a routine vehicle check.

Likewise, police in Sunsari district arrested three persons with 56.2 grams of heroin from Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City- 6 on Friday night. They were nabbed from Chamena Falcha Hotel and Lodge. The police also seized one digital measurement device and three sets of mobile phones from their possession.

One of the arrested has been identified as Birendra Rai (27) of Nijgadh Municipality-12 in Bara district.

Acting on a tip-off that drugs were being peddled from the lodge, security personnel deployed from Biratnagar-based Province 1 Police Investigation Team nabbed them with the substance from the hotel.

During the additional investigation, the police team also nabbed Bibek Khadka (23) of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan-4. The police also seized 29.8 grams of heroin and one mobile phone from his room.

Further investigation into the cases is being carried out, informed the police.
